Life in Texas

Hello Everyone!

Wow, the number of responses I got to my last post was surprising! Please know that I am glad to hear from you.

For those who want to catch up on my life:

- I am married to the love of my life Christopher John Lay! We just celebrated our 2 year anniversay on June 4th.

- I work at Teen Mania in Acquire the Fire Operations. I work with booking the flights and hotels for the staff and vip's.  *I love my job* I have 2 interns that work for me that are super girls and 1 is graduating in August and I can't stand to think about that!  It's so hard to pour into someone for a year and then see them go! I guess that's life here at Teen Mania though... I better learn to get used to it. *sigh*

I'm learning a lot about negotiating right now in my job right now.

- We are also the Youth Pastors at our church. That is fun and challenging. We've got some great kids. I know the Lord has us here right now for a reason.

I'm enjoying the summertime pace here in ATF Ops. It's not quite as hectic as the last season was. *Let's just say I wasn't loving my job then*

We live in a little two bedroom house close to our church. Life is pretty fun right now.

Well, I'm heading out for now. Thanks for all the love people... that was really cool.

Does anyone still check xanga? Is Myspace the only cool thing now??

Well, after fighting it for a while I just made a myspace this weekend...

Let me know if anyone still reads this... I know I haven't really posted in what seems like years... but I will try to keep up more. I'm starting to realize how bad I've been at keeping in touch.

Well this weekend we are having a great time visiting the Wyches in Oklahoma. It's really not as bad here as they say  *that's a Texas joke*

I'm going to go join the rest outsdie now so...

Leave some love if you want to keep in touch with me! I'll catch you either here or on Myspace.

Be blessed friends!

Dear Partner,

I consider all of you close friends, and would like to share with you the recent status of what is happening here at Teen Mania with the BattleCry movement. It seems like this is a season of both incredible favor and challenge. I would like to describe both to you.

I wish we all could have been together in San Francisco to experience God move in the hearts of so many young people. Our event began on Friday night as we gathered together on the steps of City Hall for a heavily protested prayer rally. It continued on Saturday morning as we were required to worship via radio due to a "last minute" noise ordinance imposed against our event. By the time everything was finished, over 11,000 of the 22,000 attendees either committed or re-committed their lives to Christ. It was another powerful example that the Word of God cannot be silenced.

This event also sparked some incredible media coverage across the nation as teens stood for their faith at City Hall - The O’Reilly Factor, New York Times, CNN Presents, Fox News, and ABC’s Nightline all reported on this event as well as multiple local affiliates. This event and the other 40 regional events we continue to do each weekend are part of our effort to do everything we know to do to reach teens for Christ through our Battle Cry campaign. We are so amazed at how God is using the BattleCry events to wake up teens to stand up for their faith to show millions of people across the nation that teens are in trouble and in need help.

I wanted to share this exciting news with you, but also share the most challenging situation we have faced in our 20-year history.

Passionately pursuing this generation with this BattleCry movement is taking significant investment. Where we used to do one stadium event every other year in addition to our weekly Acquire the Fire events, we are in the middle of completing six stadium events in two years. In addition to that, we have created so many tools for local churches to use to double the size of their youth group. We have invested so much money for this BattleCry movement to create this momentum that we have a severe cash deficit RIGHT NOW. We need significant help in order to keep going forward. 150,000 teens in the next 2 months will be impacted by our perseverance today, and to reach them, we must have your financial help now.

I am emailing you today to ask if you would prayerfully consider helping us meet an immediate financial need that will enable us to continue the work of reaching a generation.

Can I count on you to help us with a gift of $25, $50, or $100 so we can reach even more young people in this generation with the love of Christ?

If you can help, please make a donation by credit card or Use PayPal to make your donation. Checks can be mailed to Teen Mania Ministries, PO Box 2000, Garden Valley, TX 75771.

Given the urgency of this moment, I urge you to contact your local church leaders and ask them to take a special offering at church this week. Will you take a step right now to join us in rescuing teens? Forward this email to everyone you know and make a larger impact!

Consumed by the Call,

Ron Luce

The summer is coming to an end very soon. At Teen Mania that means many people will soon be leaving and new ones will be arriving. It also means summer jobs will be over. So... you may be wondering "what are you going to do now?"

Chris & I are both going to be working at Teen Mania in the ATF (Acquire the Fire) Operations department. We are exciting about the opportunity to continue to be a part of Teen Mania for at least 1 more year as we continue to pay off our school loans and prepare to go overseas.

The summer was fun, and it sure went by fast. I'm looking forward to this new season about to begin.

So, very soon we will be flying to Pennsylvania to pack our things and then drive back to Texas in order to start our new jobs on August 17th!! I'm actually really looking forward to packing because I'm excited about moving here.

That's all for now folks!

One afternoon while reading, the tears began to fall

this persecution is real

it happens every day

it may happen to chris

it may happen to me

May God be glorified.

until you find out it is not going to happen.

The Lord knows the future, that needs to be enough.

It would be so nice to know...but... I will continue to
